30th Annual International Conference on Language Teaching and
Learning & Educational Materials Expo
Language Learning for Life
The theme of the 30th annual JALT International Conference is Language Learning for Life. The focus is on creating an awareness of what enhances students' interest and skills in a foreign language for a lifetime. Ideas, concepts, theories, research and activities explored at the conference may relate to any learning/teaching context from pre-school through to retirement age and beyond. How does the promotion of language learning contribute to the experience of living? What creates motivation for learning languages? How can we enable that momentum to continue for years? What role does communicative competence play? Reflecting on the possible answers to these questions will help conference participants gain a greater awareness of concerns relating to lifelong learning and how language learning enhances life experiences.
